I have been a medical transcriptionist for 13 years, both at home and in-house.
I started my career taking a two-part certificate course at my local vocational school. Since then, I have worked at home for small services and large services, private doctors and hospitals. I have seen (and experienced) my share of scams, dishonest employers, and I have lost a job because I was replaced by electronic medical records.
I know how hard it is to find reliable information about the transcription profession, so this is a collection of valid, up-to-date links that you can depend upon. If you happen across something that is out-dated or contains misinformation, please alert me so I can adjust it. I want to remain a good resource for true and useful medical transcription leads.
